Insurance with Dunstan – Swedish Select Horse Sales 2025

All horses purchased at the Swedish Select Horse Sales 2025 are automatically insured for 30 days after the auction, free of charge for the buyer, through our insurance partner Dunstan.

What is included?
The insurance package covers both life insurance and veterinary care insurance:

• Dunstan Basic Life Insurance
  • Covers the horse for the purchase price if it dies or must be euthanized due to illness or injury, as assessed by a veterinarian. The insured amount is maximum 500 000 SEK.
• Dunstan Basic Veterinary Care Insurance
  • Provides coverage up to SEK 100,000 for veterinary treatment of injuries or illnesses. Compensation is paid for examination, treatment, or care carried out by a veterinarian in accordance with Swedish veterinary medical practice.

Together, these insurances ensure that your horse is protected against the most serious risks — both death and the need for urgent veterinary care — during the first 30 days after purchase.

After the auction

• A representative from Dunstan may contact you in the weeks following the auction with an offer to extend or adapt your insurance coverage.
• Please note: the extended offer is only available if the buyer is a Swedish resident.

Important information
Your insurance agreement consists of three parts:

1. The Insurance Policy – your personal policy document.
2. Specific Terms – the terms that apply to the selected insurance (e.g., Basic Life or Basic Veterinary Care).
3. General Terms – applicable to all horse insurance with Dunstan.

Please review your policy carefully once you receive it, to ensure it matches the agreed coverage. If you discover any errors, you must contact Dunstan immediately. Incorrect information may affect your right to compensation.

X-ray examination

All horses auctioned at Swedish Select Horse Sales has been x-rayed. The xrays has been reviewed by veterinarians Florian Lackner and Enar Tollig.

The x-rays and review of the x-rays can be downloaded for each individual horse.
